All about ENABLE

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The ENABLE project recently hosted a comprehensive workshop from February 25-28, 2025, bringing together consortium members, experts and key stakeholders to discuss key issues and reach consensus regarding the implementation of health strategies in Ethiopia.

On December 11, 2024, the ENABLE Consortium convened their first virtual annual meeting. Members from around the globe gathering digitally to hear and share updates on the project’s progress.

The ENABLE research project has passed a milestone. We have officially kicked off the formative research data collection for the project.

The ENABLE consortium is a multidisciplinary team of 11 partners from Europe (Norway, Sweden, Netherlands) and Africa (Ethiopia and Nigeria).

The ENABLE project consists of nine work packages and an external Ethics Advisory Board (WP10).

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) and the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) have launched the ENABLE project: Enabling environments for non-communicable disease (NCD) risk reduction in Ethiopia.

ENABLE aims to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by reducing the life-long prevalence of major NCD risk factors among pregnant women in Ethiopia.

A four million Euro grant has been awarded to the ENABLE research consortium to help prevent non-communicable diseases (NCD) and improve health and welfare in Ethiopia.
