The CO-CREATE youth conference will gather young people that have participated in the project, youth organization representatives and project consortium members to discuss, support, and learn more about one another’s perspectives. We will celebrate the crucial role that young people play in suggesting and promoting policies that will serve to support healthier food and physical activity habits.
Save the date: on 25th - 27th March 2022, the CO-CREATE Youth Conference will take place at the Sundvolden Hotel, Oslo!
What to expect at the conference
Over the past two years, young people from across Europe have joined forces with researchers to discuss, develop and refine policy ideas. The CO-CREATE Youth Alliances have provided platforms for youth across Poland, Portugal, the Netherlands, the UK, and Norway who are committed to finding ways to promote public health in their local communities. Now, we are excited to build on the important work of the youth alliances. We invite CO-CREATE youth, researchers, and youth organization representatives to gather for this special occasion.
At the CO-CREATE Youth Conference, participants will be introduced to the policy ideas developed in the youth alliances and the CO-CREATE Youth Declaration, participate in advocacy workshops, and learn more about how they can advocate for their demands.
Young people are invited to provide feedback on CO-CREATE processes and we will engage in panel discussions on pertinent topics including the importance of youth involvement in health programmes and policy. Most importantly: we will celebrate youth engagement and the excellent work of the young people participating in the CO-CREATE project. This momentous occasion will mark the first time that they meet face-face.
Want to be involved in shaping the conference?
Ahead of the conference, everyone interested in attending the conference is invited to The Road to the Youth Conference meetings, where youth will co-design the conference programme, get their questions answered, and help brainstorm how we can recruit participants to the conference. The Road to the Youth Conference meetings will take place on September 14th at 8 PM CEST (7 PM BST) and on December 8th at 8 PM CET (7 PM GMT).
At the Road to the CO-CREATE Youth Conference meetings, youth will also be informed on how to apply for the CO-CREATE Youth Stipends. The stipends can for example fund travel to and accommodation for the duration of the conference.

The CO-CREATE project is devoted to giving young people a platform to raise their voices. We believe that youth should have a say when policies affecting their lives are enacted. We hope that the CO-CREATE Youth Conference will offer this space!
