Professor Per Magnus was the scientific director of the Norwegian Mother, Father and Child Study (MoBa) for over 20 years, before moving on to new assignments in 2021. At the forum he was celebrated for his extraordinary contribution to the development of MoBa.

Per Magnus has been preoccupied with MoBa since the early planning of the cohort in 1993 and still contributes as PI of several research projects in MoBa, including a COVID-19 study.

At the 1st Open MoBa Research Forum, Camilla Stoltenberg emphasised his significant contribution.

“There are many founding fathers and mothers in the MoBa study, but one person stands out, and that is Per Magnus. He has been crucial in developing MoBa to what it is today. I am so grateful that you have used your vast wisdom and your immense work capacity in MoBa over so many years, and that you continue to contribute to MoBa,” stated Stoltenberg in her speech to the Forum.
