Infection from food, water and animals

Norovirus is highly contagious. The best preventive measures are thorough hand washing with soap and water, and good kitchen hygiene at home, at school and in childcare centres.

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health actively participates in 60 EU projects, where the One Health European Joint Programme is one of the largest with 42 partners.

'One Health' is an approach for designing and implementing programmes, policies, legislation and research where multiple sectors communicate and work together to achieve better public health outcomes.
